My art is a real mix of textures – I use acrylic paints, sometimes paper, and anything that will mimic rust in nature.
My paintings are layered with texture to give the appearance of peeling paint and distress. I use the pallet knife to add and scrape layers of paint.
My style is a reflection of myself – it’s free-styled – it’s somewhat uncontrolled – and it’s certainly brazen.
Because I live in Boulder, Colorado, I’m inspired by all the nature around me. I just love the magnificent colors, the unique textures, and the trees.
When I paint I disappear inside myself. I experience a blissful creative flow that allows me to let go. The paintings reveal themselves as I paint. I just listen to the canvas and allow it to become what it wants.
